David Baxter Mr. David Baxter

Mr. Baxter joined Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School in 2010-2011. Prior to teaching at King Elementary he taught 6th grade Language Arts and Science at Perry Middle School in Providence for 13 years. For college he attended Plymouth State University (BA-1992) and Rhode Island College (MAT-1997). Mr. Baxter's passion is teaching science and robotics and loves when young students become interested in science as a career. Claudia Martin Ms. Claudia Martin

Teacher Wish ListMs. Martin received her Masters in Literacy from Providence College and has her Reading Specialist Certificate for grades PreK-12. She received her Elementary Education / Psychology BA from Rhode Island College. She is an alumna of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School, Nathan Bishop Middle School, and Classical High School. Ms. Martin has been an educator for 21 years and has spent 15 yearsin the Providence Public School System.School Notes She has a continuing relationship with Volunteers in Providence. In addition, Ms. Martin actively mentors Rhode Island College and Providence College practicum and student teachers. Jane Quirk Ms. Jane Quirk

Ms. Quirk graduated from Rhode Island College with her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and with a minor in Mathematics. She has also completed post graduate work at Rhode Island College, The University of Rhode Island and Providence College. Throughout her career she has taught grades 6, 7 and 8 at private schools and has been a teacher in Providence since 1990. She joined MLK in 1994 and has been the math teacher for both grades 4 and 5.
